TEDxDayton Call for Speakers

“The TEDxDayton Call for Speakers will be the main avenue by which we find the speakers for this year’s TEDxDayton event,” said speakers committee chair Rachel Graves. “We want to open the event up to the entire greater Dayton community to see what people are passionate enough about to share on the TEDx stage and to find the best speakers for this amazing event.”

Participants are asked to sign up for a scheduled time at one of three evening events and come prepared to speak for 3 ½ minutes on a topic they are passionate about. The talk should relate to the 2014 TEDxDayton theme “Explore. Exchange. Excite.” Talks will be given before a panel of judges, and participants will be contacted within a few weeks about whether they have been selected.

TEDxDayton Call for Speakers will be held at The Black Box Improv Theater, 518 E. Third St. in downtown Dayton on May 14, 20, and 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. To sign up for a time visit www.TEDxDayton.com/call.

There is no cost to participate. The Call for Speakers is only open to participants, judges and TEDxDayton organizers.

WHAT IS TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDayton, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxDayton event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
